Shirley Louise Philpott, of Delaware passed away peacefully early Friday morning, May 9, 2025 at Grady Memorial Hospital with her loving husband by her side.

She moved with Marvin to Columbus, Ohio and continued teaching at the Delaware JVS which is now the Delaware Area Career Center. She retired in 2003 after teaching 40 years.
Since then, she has spent many hours volunteering at Grady Memorial Hospital in Delaware as an Office Mate to the Volunteer Services Office. She has spent countless hours delivering meals and doing countless other tasks at the Council for Older Adults now known as Source Point. It was doing these countless volunteer duties that she and Marvin were inducted into the Central Ohio Senior Citizens Hall of Fame for volunteer services in 2014. She and Marvin have been active members first of Grace United Methodist Church and then of Asbury United Methodist Church in Delaware.
Her hobbies included sewing, square dancing, motorcycle riding, camping, water skiing, fishing, and sponsoring countless after school activities with her children.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, brother Harold F. Einspahr, son Robert M. Graham, her daughter Susan I. (Graham) Roberts, and her beloved chihuahua's Frisco, Mitzee and Ginger.

Only the fondest of memories of Shirley, such a kind and giving person. My fondest memory is walking into Asbury Methodist and seeing she and Marvin sitting in, "our pew". I loved visiting and catching up on Grady news and Shirley always made sure to ask how my 90+ dad was doing.
You will definitely be missed by so many that relied on your help and support.
John and I are very sorry to miss the service but will be there in spirit.
Healing hugs and prayers to you, Marvin and all of your family.

Marvin, I am so sorry for your loss. I've had you both on my mind the last couple of weeks. Now, I know why. We shared so many good times at The Council for Older Adults. May God bless you with the peace & comfort only He can give.
