Mrs. Shirley Ann Terry Sayes, age 86, entered eternal rest on Sunday, July 14, 2025, at her home in Pineville, surrounded by her loving family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Newsome Sayes; parents, Loyd and Alice Terry; brother, Loyd Terry, Jr.; and sister, Barbara Martin.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Mandy Carmouche and husband Micheal; stepchildren, Tabitha Griffith and husband David, Pete Sayes and wife Debbie, and Robert Sayes; grandchildren, Tristan, Caleb, and Bryce; brother, James Terry (Fran); caregiver and dear friend, Donna Newland.
Mrs. Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She dedicated most of her life to students as a teacher and coach. She retired from the Texas School System after 20 years of education and coaching girls' basketball. Mrs. Shirley then went on to teach another 20 years in Louisiana at the elementary level as a P.E. teacher. Though she spent many years investing in the lives of others, nothing was more important to her than her own family. She enjoyed reading, playing scrabble, and spending time with her grandchildren, whom she deeply loved. She will forever be missed by those that loved and knew her.
