It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shirley "Jim" F. Weaver, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who peacefully departed this world on Saturday, June 7th, 2025, at the age of 93, in the comfort of his Selkirk home, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on Friday, May 13th, 1932, in Chatham, Jim was the cherished son of the late Albert and Grace (née Williams) Weaver. He carried their love and lessons throughout his life, shaping him into the kind, hardworking, and devoted man he was known to be.
Jim was preceded in death by his son, Gregory Weaver, a loss that remained deeply felt.
Jim was a proud and dedicated laborer with Local 190, where he contributed his skills and unwavering work ethic. His hands built more than just structures; they helped build a life filled with love and security for his family.
He leaves behind a legacy of love in his devoted wife, Shirley M. (Hunt) Weaver, and their daughters: Bonnie (Carmen) Carbona, Stephanie (Peter) Medert, Kathleen (Paul) Sumner, Nancy Weaver, and Stacy (Rich) Sill. His love extended to his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him. Jim is also survived by his brothers, Leo (Lillian) Weaver and Billy Weaver, who will deeply miss his presence in their lives.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Leah and the compassionate team at Community Hospice of Albany County, especially Chi and Janine, for their exceptional care and support during Jim's final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations in Jim's memory be made to The Community Hospice Foundation, 310 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208, payable by check to "The Community Hospice."
In accordance with Jim's wishes, there will be no formal services. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
