SIDNEY A. CLARK

Sidney A. Clark, 80, of Lee's Summit, Mo., passed away comfortably at his home on Monday, July 7, 2025 at 7:10 p.m. He was surrounded by his family, which includes his wife of over 55 years, Phyllis; his son, D.A.; his daughter, Heather; and his grandson, Warner.

Sid was preceded in death by his father, Jay Ivan; his mother, Lois; and his sister, Martha LaQuey. He has one surviving sister, Linda Precht, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Always a gentle man, Sid enjoyed woodworking, like creating tables, bookshelves, and other fine carpentry items for his family and friends; collecting coins (having several books of the state quarters from various mints), and simply mowing the grass. He had an unmatched sense of humor, most definitely acquired from his father, and chose to include humor at any opportune moment. During his lengthy marriage to Phyllis, he would often introduce her to others as his "first wife" and tell that they had been married for "55 years… in a row" with "no time off for good behavior".

Truly, all who knew Sid knew he valued family, laughter, and kindness. He was a loving husband, caring father, and doting grandfather, who aimed to spoil his grandson (and did!). He also treasured the nurses in his life, as his mother was a nurse, and he showed his appreciation for those who cared for him during his stays at the hospital and hospice. He was always so grateful for all the hard work and helpfulness the nurses provided every day.

A celebration of Sid's life will be held in the fall. In lieu of sending flowers, please consider donating blood to your nearest Community Blood Center or Red Cross. He benefited from other's blood donations and giving would honor his legacy.

We will remember him every day and cherish the memories we have of him.
