Sonya was born on January 20, 1985 in in Big Spring. She was a lifetime resident of Big Spring, but lived the last 10 years in Midland and a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She married Jacob Martinez on August 13, 2013.
Sonya graduated from Big Spring High School and Howard College. She was a homemaker, but she always enjoyed singing and helping people with cosmetics.
Sonya is survived by her husband: Jacob Martinez; 3 daughters: Iris Martinez, Zoey Martinez, & Calie Martinez; 2 sons: Nathaniel Martinez & Jayden Martinez; mother: Mary Sue Lujan; brother: Mark Ortega; sister: Mercedes Lujan; and several nieces & nephews.
Sonya was preceded in death by her father: Mike Ortega.
