Surrounded by family and close friends, Stacy C. Beard, adoringly known as "Pop" to those closest to him, passed away on July 13, 2025 at a Texarkana hospital.

Stacy was born on March 1, 1957, in Hope, Arkansas. He was a jack of all trades which resulted him in being everyone's first call when something needed to be repaired. He never backed down from hard work and could literally fix anything. After retiring from Red River Army Depot in 2000, Stacy worked various jobs prior to taking a maintenance position at Atlanta ISD where he faithfully served the district for 18 years.

As a kid growing up, he spent every weekend on the lake with his parents and brothers camping and waterskiing. Throughout his life, camping remained one of his favorite hobbies. He loved roughing it on the banks of the Buffalo River and camping in large groups with family at Rocky Point. While camping, he was content sitting in his chair, sipping Diet Coke, fishing, and tormenting the grandkids with tales of Big Foot sightings in the area. He was guaranteed to bring his boat and half of his homestead to the lake each time he camped.

Stacy was a cowboy at heart, and he loved rodeo. He was particularly passionate about team roping. He shared his passion for that sport with his son-in-law and granddaughters and reminded them frequently that he could still out rope them

.

Stacy is preceded in death by his parents, J.B. & Patsy Beard; grandson, Stetson Beard; nephew, Jay Beard; and an ol' bay mare that no other horse could ever live up to.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 27 years, Denise Beard; two daughters, Jennifer Lance (Doug) and Kelsey Beard (Alex); three brothers, Terry Beard (Kathy), Lance Beard (Yvonne), Kevin Beard (Tina); sister-in-law Sheila Wilson (Wayne); seven grandchildren Hunter Nuckels (Austin), Sarah Lance, Rhiley Livingston, Aiden Shelton, Daxton Sewell, Lakyn Lance, Ella Lance; two great-grandchildren Colt Nuckels and Mattie Nuckels and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and special family friends.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 17, 2025 in the Hanner Funeral Service Chapel, with Bro. Stacy Garrett officiating.

There will be a time of visitation from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at the funeral home.

The family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff of St. Michael's and Baylor Scott and White hospitals for their exceptional care over the past month.
