Stanley (Stan) William Bearden of Louisville, KY, passed away peacefully at home on April 5, 2025, surrounded by his loving family and friends. A devoted husband, cherished father, loyal friend, proud grandfather-and even prouder great-grandfather-Stan lived a life rich in love, laughter, and purpose. He had a contagious smile and an easy way about him. It's fair to say he never met a stranger.
Born on January 12, 1943, in Louisville, KY, Stan grew up with a deep sense of responsibility and a tireless work ethic. While serving in the U.S. Air Force, he married the love of his life, Sandra Lee Hall. Together, they built a successful business, Welding Equipment Company, where Stan generously shared his knowledge and was always willing to help anyone in need.
Stan's proudest achievements, however, were always at home. He was the steady hand and warm heart of the Bearden family-a man who never missed a football game, basketball game, or cheerleading event, no matter how demanding his schedule. He taught his children practical skills, like how to change a tire, but more importantly, how to live with integrity, humor, and compassion. His storytelling could fill a room with laughter, and his quiet strength provided comfort in every challenge.
Stan had a lifelong passion for swimming and running and completed a full Ironman at the age of 56. He believed in hard work, second chances, and always making time for the people you love.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jean and Robert Bearden; his loving wife, Sandra Bearden; his son, Keith Bearden; daughter-in-law, Sam; and three siblings-Bobby, Tommy, and Carol.
He is survived by his two children, Martin and LeAnn; six grandchildren-Kelsey, William, Noor, Hassaan, Aiza, and Sameer; and one great-grandchild, Nathaniel. He is also survived by three siblings-Vikki, David, and Kathy-and a lifetime of friends who were family in every sense of the word.
Stan's legacy is one of unconditional love, quiet wisdom, and a life well-lived. His family will carry forward his values, his stories, and his love in all they do.
A visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. on April 26th at St. Agnes Church, followed by a funeral mass at 12:00 p.m. At 1:30 p.m., a celebration of his life will take place at Ramsi's Cafe on the World-where Stan wanted everyone to have a final drink on him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the St. Xavier High School scholarship fund.
He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed-but never forgotten. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Stan, please visit our floral store.

Dear Stan, A couple of declarations before we go. There was no Stan without Sandy and no Sandy without Stan. Your business was an oasis or maybe even a heaven. All of the customers, vendors et al were made to feel welcome. Thanks for sharing your heaven. I will remember you, Sandy, Richard, David, Marty and Leann forever. A moment in time. I cannot leave out Cleo and Ramses. If we live long enough things go sideways for sure. You were the rock for so many waves to crash against. Thoreau said "Every man has to learn the points of the compass again, as often as he awakes, whether from sleep or any abstraction. Not till we are lost, in other words not till we have lost the world, do we begin to find ourselves, and realize where we are and the infinite extent of our relations." I think you knew where you were even while you were learning the points of the compass over and over. Thank you for your wisdom, your patience with knuckleheads and most of all your friendship and your innate ability to quietly elevate others. With eternal admiration, Mark Brewer
