Greenville – Stephanie Anne (Beckwith) Elsemore, 49, passed away peacefully, after a very brief illness, on April 1, 2025, surrounded by those she loved most, at Maine Medical Center in Portland. She was born March 20, 1976, in Greenville, the daughter of Norman G. and Geneva A. (Ward) Beckwith.
Stephanie was a pillar of the community in which she lived and in her family that she loved so deeply. Stephanie graduated from Greenville High School in 1994 and went on to Cosmetology school in Bangor. She was self employed cutting hair in the homes of the elderly ladies in Greenville for several years. She married Rocky Elsemore on June 9, 2001. She was blessed to be able to stay at home to raise her children for their early years before taking on a hostess job and eventually she and Rocky took over Porter's garage. Never did Stephanie ever have just one job, even when she was a stay-at-home mom, she was babysitting other's kids or helping care for her cousin Mark. At the end of her life she was managing Porter's, coaching the high school softball team, the bail commissioner in town, and worked frequently at Trailside waitressing and bartending. Steph took classes so she could monitor the students with diabetes on the sports teams and she often covered for the school nurse. She coached middle school soccer for years and was class advisor for both Taylor and Adam's high school classes. Any time you asked Steph about sports she would freely brag about "Her Girls". Stephanie loved deeply and unconditionally.
Stephanie is survived by her husband, Richard "Rocky" Elsemore Jr. ; daughter, Taylor Elsemore and her significant other, Adin; son, Adam Elsemore and his significant other, Gabby; parents, Norman and Geneva Beckwith; sister, Tracy Wing and husband, Nate; nephews, Corson and Cameron; mother-in-law, Karen Cole and her husband, Al; aunts and uncles, Foster and Debbie Ward, Walter and Doris Ward, and Bruce and Carol McBrierty; cousins that were more like children, Makenzie and Shelby Ward; and too many special cousins, extended family members, and friends to name. She was predeceased by her father-in-law, Rocky Elsemore, and special cousin, Mark Beckwith.
The family would like to thank the staff at CA Dean Hospital and EMS, Staff at Mayo Hospital and Life Flight and especially the team of Doctors and Nurses at Maine Medical Center.
A Celebration of Stephanie's life will be held at 2 PM Saturday, April 12, 2025, in the Oakes Auditorium at the Greenville School, 130 Pritham Avenue, with Pastor Steve Nute officiating. The family welcomes friends and loved ones to share stories and memories of Stephanie during the Celebration. After the service, continued celebration will be held at Trailside Restaurant. Memorial donations to help Rocky may be made payable to Richard Elsemore and sent to Maine Highlands FCU, P.O. Box 353, Greenville Junction, ME 04442. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. Messages of condolence and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
