Steve, or Mr. Anderson as I referred to him, will be sorely missed at MIFA. As volunteer coordinator I had the pleasure of getting to know him and seeing him faithfully serve his beloved seniors every Monday and Wednesday for the past three years. He would always give me these notes in his beautiful handwriting, where he would greet me, politely let me know what days he needed off, wish me the best, and then sign his name. I used to tease him how this was the only cancellation from a Meals on Wheels volunteer I enjoyed receiving!
Mr. Anderson never wanted thanks and often went the extra mile for his senior clients- bringing them water during a water shortage, buying one client a cell phone because Mr. Anderson realized he was missing his meals because he didn´t hear the volunteers knocking on his door, taking favorite clients for rides just to get them out of the house- and these are just the things I found out about!
I will truly miss his soft greeting, humble, sweet presence, and wisdom. He was such a special man.

Cathy and family,
On behalf of the surviving members of the Pepper family, I extend my deepest sympathies and sincere condolences on this sudden and enormous loss at this truly unfortunate time. May his memories forever be a comfort and a blessing for all whose lives he touched and with whom he so generously shared his time on this earth.
