Steve Podkamensky, 78, passed away on July 31, 2025, in Temple, Texas. Born on October 27, 1946, in Racine, Wisconsin, Steve led a life defined by service and dedication.

He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and continued his commitment to his country through service in the reserves while residing in Texas. His devotion to public service extended into civilian life as well-he volunteered for over 21 years with the Bastrop Heart of the Pines Fire Department, contributing significantly to the safety and welfare of his community.

Texas became more than just Steve's home; it was where he pursued his passions. Shooting pool and riding his motorcycle.

Steve is survived by three sisters: Evie (Chuck) Gill, Jennifer (Joe) Kover, and Barbara (Richard) Colson; and his nieces and nephews: Debbie (Bobby), Monica (Bill), Ken (Sue), Donny, Sandy (Jack), Pam (Tim), and Tom. He was preceded in death by his older brother Don and older sister Carol.

Service and internment pending.

Steve lond time ago, where has the tome go, I don´t know, we were playing base ball for holy trinity school, won championship one year. Learn poker and smoke cigars at your place. Best memory shooting 8 ball at sailors pool hall and grill, on Washington ave .Best advice from you join the Air Force, thanks for that, I did enjoy serving. Until we meet again one the big pool hall in the sky

Steve was quite a guy. He was so attractive. I would always get lost looking into his beautiful eyes. I'm so sorry he's moved on.

I'm glad he loved his life in Texas. He has plenty to share with Donny and his folks. Hugs to all the family. Such a wonderful family. Your friend Sue Johnson
