Steve Day passed away unexpectedly on June 27, 2025, at the age of 66.
He was born on January 7, 1959, in Columbus, Ohio, to Larry and Ruthie Day.
Steve proudly served his country in the United States Navy. After his
military service, he worked for Universal Enclosures for 25 years before
retiring in 2024. He also served faithfully on the security team at Ovilla
Road Baptist Church, where he was a devoted member. In retirement,
Steve enjoyed traveling with his wife, playing poker with friends, and-most
of all-spending time with his granddaughter, Natalie, who brought him
immense joy.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Ruthie Day.
Left to honor his memory are his loving wife of 46 years, Nancy Day of Red
Oak, TX; his children, Jennifer Tywater (Donald) of Lancaster, TX, and
Andrew Day (Sarah) of Grand Prairie, TX; his beloved granddaughter,
Natalie Day; his brother, Jeffrey Day of Fort Worth, TX; and his sister, Cheri
Husband of Red Oak, TX. He is also survived by a large extended family
including many aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Steve trusted Christ for salvation, and we rejoice in knowing he is now in
the presence of his Savior. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
A celebration of Steve's life will be held on Sunday, July 6th at 2:00 p.m. at
Ovilla Road Baptist Church, 3251 Ovilla Road, Ovilla, TX.
