It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Steven DeCarlo Eubanks Jr., a beloved son, father, brother, and friend, who departed on October 15, 2025, at the age of 36. Born in Decatur, Illinois, on February 10, 1989, Steven's infectious laugh and larger-than-life personality were his trademarks, ensuring that he never met a stranger. To know Steven was to love him. Steven was a true jokester who brought light and laughter wherever he went. His comedic talents were evident from a young age, including his impressive Michael Jackson impersonations. He carried this joyful spirit throughout his life, bringing a smile to everyone's face with his one-of-a-kind sense of humor. He was also a devoted family man who cherished every moment spent with his loved ones, especially his daughter, Kamiya. A devoted sports fan, Steven's heart belonged to the black and gold of the Pittsburgh Steelers. His passion for the game was only rivaled by his admiration for basketball legends Lebron James and Kobe Bryant. He could often be found quoting movies, a pastime he especially loved with his favorite film being Sinners. He also had a great love for music, with Lil Wayne and Sam Cooke among his favorite artists. After earning his GED from Richland Community College, Steven built a career as a hardworking forklift driver, most recently as an SC-2 and previously at Tate & Lyle. Steven is survived by his daughter Kamiya Janique Eubanks; his parents Twyla Curry-Eubanks and Steven DeCarlo Eubanks Sr.; his brothers Robin Cobb and Mario Eubanks; his sisters Jacqueline Eubanks-Pickett, Eunique Eubanks-Roth, and Stephanie; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and special friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, O'Jean and Oscar Curry, and Marie and James Eubanks; his uncles, Gregory Curry and Ricky Eubanks; and his cousins, Chassidy Eubanks and Nathaniel Curry.
