Sue McGraw was born on February 11, 1943, in Knoxville, TN and passed away at her residence on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at the age of 82 with her loving husband by her side.
Sue was the daughter of Issac Clayton Scott and Helen Shillings Scott. She met George Dewey McGraw III which proved to be the love of her life. They wed on July 20, 1977.
She was a member of Salem Baptist Church. Sue loved gardening, flower arranging, and cooking for her loved ones. She took great satisfaction in ironing clothes and making sure she kept George looking his best. Sue was an avid collector of old quilts, aprons, and embroidered pillowcases. She was an exceptional woman that loved her family and friends with all her heart. She took pride in being called Nana by her grandchildren. Also, Sue loved animals. She and George rescued their fur babies: Daisy and Hally.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Patsy Scott.
Sue was survived by her spouse: George McGraw III of Liberty, TN; son: Grayson McGraw of Old Hickory, TN; daughters: Dee Dee (Danny) Ray of Lebanon, TN, and Amy (Trey) Lee of Nashville, TN; brother: Clayton Scott of Donelson, TN; grandchildren: Brooke (Danny) Warren of Lebanon, TN, Camden (Elizabeth) Lee of Nashville, TN, Gardner Lee of Nashville, TN, Ava McGraw of Nashville, TN, Brandon (Caitland) Ray of Lebanon, TN; great grandchildren: Evangline Warren of TN, and Adelaide Warren of TN.
Sue chose cremation and her family honored her wishes.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Gentiva Hospice for the outstanding care given to Sue.
