I adored Sue. Her smarts, sense of humor, commonsense. She was devoted to making her community better, whether in Kansas City or her hometown. We are blessed to have known her. Deepest condolences to you, John, and to the entire family.

Sue will be greatly missed for her determination, grace and outstanding sense of humor. She was devoted to Gamma Phi Beta from the first day she became a member. May she live on in our memories.

Sue Durrett contributed her formidable energy and talent to advance countless worthwhile purposes all of her life. Some were wide-reaching (like education), some were focused (like for Overton, John, Stet). With her obvious capabilities, honest character, and true work ethic, she lead naturally for benefit of all. We were lucky to have her in our lives.

I´m devastated by the news of Sue`s passing. I met Sue many years ago when she moved Overton into the community that I worked at. I´ll never forget the day I met her with her yellow raincoat on and pearls, telling me the story of Overtons many hospital stays. Over the years I grew to love her and Overton and John very much Calling it a privilege to work with them and share life with them for a little bit. Sue was the kind of woman that so many of us strive to be, a loving mother and wife, and an equally tough lady all wrapped into one beautiful package. What an honor it was to know her. All my love and prayers to John and family.
