Sue Ann Rice, 78, of Jackson, Tennessee, formerly of Newbern, Tennessee passed away peacefully on August 14, 2025. Born on January 20, 1947 in Tiptonville, Tennessee, Sue was a loving, funny, and resilient woman who left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who found great joy in her family and grandchildren. Throughout her life, Sue exhibited a strength and resilience that inspired those around her.

Sue devoted her life to being a proud and dedicated homemaker, finding great joy and honor in caring for her family and home. Her hobbies included sewing, fishing, cooking and grilling out, and riding around while listening to her favorite tunes. She was a woman of simple pleasures who found happiness in the smallest of things, especially when surrounded by her loved ones. In the words of Helen Keller, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart." Sue truly embodied this sentiment, demonstrating a love and dedication to her family that was truly profound.

Sue is survived by her children Chanda Garner Conley (Claude H. II), Shawn King (Esther), Joannie Poole (Brad), and Tammy Pomeroy (Scott); her brother, Wayne Marlow (Donna); and her grandchildren Cayla Garner, ClaudeH. Conley III, Caleb Conley, Beth Ann Kiestler, Logan Burns and Blake Pomeroy. She was also a cherished great-grandmother to Ashley Crowe and Emma Kiestler. Sue was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Porter G. Rice; her brothers Conley Ezell, Tommy Ezell, Billy Marlow, Ed Dean and Dodie Dean; and her sisters Ruth Miller, Mary Higgs, Virgie Howell and Louise Howell.

Honoring her wishes, there are no services planned at this time. Cremation arrangements are under the compassionate direction of Ronk Funeral Home.
