Susan Ann Carper Atchison (Golladay) 67, of Fort Valley, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2025, at her home. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's Heritage Center at 106 S. High St. Edinburg on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at 10:30am. Pastor Banks Swanson will officiate.
Susan was born November 28, 1957, in Woodstock, VA daughter of Richard Carper and the late Carolyn Wolverton Carper. She worked as a customer service representative for CVS and also worked at the Shenandoah County Landfill.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Pryor Atchison and a grandson, Zacarri Showell.
She is survived by her daughter, Carrie Ross (Ryan), Kimberly Green (Dwayne), Amanda Golladay (Matthew Bly); siblings, Sandra Fox, Richard Joseph Carper (Arlene), Ruth Hassler; grandchildren, Jalen Kane, Jasmine Kane, Ryleigh Green, Oliver Green, Ewan Ross, Clell Ross; and numerous step children and their families.
Susan never met a stranger, and loved a good conversation. She had a love for animals, crafts and was an amazing seamstress. She will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her.
