Elder, Susan – of Flint, age 76, passed away peacefully Friday June 27, 2025, at her residence surrounded by family. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday July 2, 2025, from 1PM until 4PM at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Cremation to follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the family for future designations.
Susan was born July 27, 1948, in Sikeston, Missouri. Susan attended and graduated from Carman-Ainsworth High School. Susan married the love of her life, Edward Elder, on June 10, 1967. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love and laughter. Susan's passion for life was evident in everything she did. As a dedicated homemaker, her biggest joy came from taking care of her family and caring for her grandchildren. She had an incredible ability to bring people together, often playing Mrs. Claus alongside her husband at various charity events during the winter season, embodying the spirit of giving and joy. Her love for adventure was equally matched by her fondness for treasure hunting at rummage sales, where she found hidden gems. Susan's big heart and generous spirit were a gift to her family and friends, and her legacy of kindness will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her, Susan's heart was as vast as her love for those around her, leaving a lasting imprint on the lives she touched.
Surviving are: Children: Didi (Mark) Stites and David (Magen) Elder; Grandchildren: Nathan (Lindsey) Cronkright, Mindi (Paul) Mullineaux, Justin (Kayla) Stites, Richelle (David) Haehl, Emily (Doug) Auld, Matthew Elder, Jacob Elder, Tasha Elder, Chelsie Lorincz, and Robert (Jamie) Carsten; She was blessed with 22 Great grandchildren; Many wonderful friends. She is preceded in passing by her husband, Edward Elder; Daughter, Sylivia Elder; Parents, Frank and Marguerite Harris; Grandson, Ryan Stites; Brothers: Ronnie Harris and Chris Harris.
