Susan Young Obituary

Susan Annette Young, 64, of Andrews passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2025, at her home in Andrews with her loving family at her side.
Susan was born on October 11, 1960, in Winfield, Alabama to JoAnn Tittle Overton and Roland Overton. She owned her own cleaning service before she retired. Susan enjoyed sewing and traveling with her family; she enjoyed watching old TV shows such as "I Love Lucy," "I Dream of Jeanie," "The Bob Newhart Shows" and the "Mary Tyler Moore Show." She was also known for her cooking; she loved cooking hamburgers for her husband Doug. Susan also enjoyed cooking pies, but she was most noted for her Thanksgiving glazed ham which the family looked forward to having every year. She had a little Yorkie who she loved dearly, Mia. Mia kept Susan company and was always at her side. Susan was beloved by all her family and friends and will be missed dearly by all who had the pleasure of being in her life.
Survivors include her husband of thirty-five years, Douglas Young of Andrews; children, Shane Sprinkle and his wife Shelly of Andrews, April Jones and her husband Ricky of Saltillo, Mississippi, Jeremy Sprinkle and his wife Brandy of Brillant, Alabama and John Young of Elmore Alabama; her brothers, Pete Overton and his wife Pam of Fayette, Alabama and James Overton and his wife Tammy of Memphis, Tennessee; grandchildren, Skyla Webb, Hannah Clark, Lillie Clark, Dillon Gerald, Jayden Sprinkle, Karley Sprinkle, Jaelyn Castillo, Damian Hobbs, Andrea Marquez and Brantley Townsend; great grandchildren, Mkynlee Sprinkle, Bexlee Sprinkle, Draelyn Clark and Ryla Clark.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Roland and Joann Overton and her sister, Tammie Lee Overton.
A gathering of friends and family will take place from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 4, 2025, at McNett Funeral Home in Andrews. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 5, 2025, at McNett Funeral Home with burial to follow at Andrews North Cemetery in Andrews.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Billy Whitehead Jr., Derreck Ehrenberg, Philip Houston, Billy Welborn, Bill Price, Ricky Jones, Earl Dosier and Josh Billig.
