Van Buren--- Suzanne C. Fortin, 73, peacefully entered into rest June 3, 2025, at a Van Buren healthcare center, with her family at her side. She was born July 2, 1951, in Ste. Anne de Madawaska, NB, Canada, a daughter of the late Louis and Solange (Perreault) Beaulieu.
Suzanne was a longtime member of the Daughters of Isabella and a parishioner of St. Bruno-St. Remi Church. She worked various jobs in and around Van Buren, including as a CNA with Borderview Rehab and Nursing, and as a personal care assistant with Northern Aroostook Alternatives (NAA). Suzanne loved fishing and would weave in and out of the shores of many of the brooks and streams in the St. John Valley. Her kitchen always had the bounty of her catches, and she never hesitated to share. When she didn't have her fishing pole handy, Suzanne kept her hands busy with her crafting projects. Suzanne cherished the many memories created with her friend Tina, who assisted her during her later years and helped her keep her independence.
She is survived by three children, Lise (Mario) Cyr of Siegas, NB, Brian (Martha) Fortin of Dieppe, NB, and Shannon Fortin-Moffit of Harvey Station, NB; three grandchildren, Emilie (Keven), Zion, and Nicolas; a great granddaughter, Flavie; seven siblings, Roger Beaulieu of Bristol, CT, Therese Cyr of St. Francois, NB, Lucille (Albert) Martin, of Ste. Anne de Madawaska, NB, Camille (Johanne) Beaulieu of St. John, NB, Monique (Lawrence) Lizotte of Riviere-Verte, NB, Roland (Pauline) Beaulieu of St. Basile, NB, and Elsa Beaulieu of Edmundston, NB; a special friend, Tina Cormier; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Suzanne was predeceased by a sister, Lily Parent.
Burial ceremony will be at a later date in Ste. Anne, NB, Canada To share condolences online, please visit www.LajoieFuneralHome.com
