Tammy Mary Greenawalt, 65, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Western Reserve in Akron, Ohio.

Born on April 2, 1960, in Ashtabula, Ohio, Tammy was the daughter of the late Gordon Emery and Dorothy (Fox) Emery Sidley. She was a proud graduate of Ashtabula High School, Class of 1979, and on August 1, 1981, she married the love of her life, Richard Greenawalt. Together, they shared 44 years of love, partnership, and family.

Tammy dedicated many years of her life to caring for others as an STNA at Ashtabula General Hospital. She was also a longtime and devoted member of First United Methodist Church in Ashtabula, where she found joy in teaching Vacation Bible School and sharing her faith with others.

A passionate believer that knowledge is power, Tammy homeschooled all of her children and encouraged a love of learning in her home. She found peace and creativity in her hobbies, especially gardening and the fiber arts - knitting, sewing, and crocheting brought her great joy. Above all, Tammy cherished time spent with her family and friends who were more like family.

She is survived by her loving husband, Richard; her children, Richard Greenawalt, Jr., Joseph Greenawalt, Holly (Molly) Greenawalt, and Cara Greenawalt; and her siblings, Terri Thompson and Linda Pykus.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Gordon Emery, Jr., Diana Frabutt, Bill Emery, and Joel Sidley, as well as by her parents.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 11, 2025, at 2PM, at Ducro Funeral Home, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula, Ohio. Calling hours will be held the same day from 12:00 PM until the time of service.

Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made in Tammy's name to the family.

Arrangements are entrusted to Ducro Funeral Services and Crematory. Online condolences and the full obituary may be found at www.ducro.com.
