Taylor L. "Chuckie" Anderson, 30, of Ellington and previously of Enfield, beloved son of Tammy Fitch and Jim Bartlett, and fiancé of Ronald Cousins, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 6, 2025. He was born on December 10, 1994, in Roanoke, VA, to Tammy Fitch and Allen Anderson.
Taylor was recognized for his artistic talents in photography, film, costume design, acting, painting, sculpture, culinary arts and horticulture, just to list a few; being the youngest registered artist in CT at 13 years of age. These passions followed him throughout his life. At a young age, Taylor was exposed to wildlife rehabilitation, which inspired a lifelong love of animals and all forms of life, fostering and adopting countless animals. He was also an advocate for LGBTQIA+ people of all walks of life, passionately educating many.
Taylor was accepted into the Arts Program at the Capitol Theater Magnet High School in Willimantic, CT. Taylor participated in the 4H program at 12 years-old as a camper, which grew into a major part of his young life. He later became a counselor himself and hosted peers from around the world for years. Taylor went on to attend Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI, a town and community which grew close to his heart and where he came to be known and loved as "Chuck" for his undeniable gifts in the kitchen. Recently returning home to CT, he continued his education, becoming an early childhood educator at Red Balloon Children's Center in Stafford Springs, CT, where he was loved by all.
Throughout his life, he found himself traveling and seeing many parts of the world, immersing himself in these cultures, and learning to speak French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, and some ASL.
Chuckie is additionally survived by his former step-father Danny Chapman; his siblings, Alyssa, Cory, and Ashley; and nephew, Mitchell; grandparents, Janet Fitch, Jim & Marilyn Bartlett, and Barbara Mitchell; his aunts and uncles, Josh and Amy Bartlett, Jake and Sarah Bartlett, Jared and Amanda Bartlett, Elisabeth and Fritz Knipschildt, Jonny and Annie Blazawski, Amy Blaze and Lisa Aponte; as well as a host of cousins, countless friends, and his nest of pets. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, George Byron Fitch III, and his uncle, Joe Bartlett.
A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, July 13, 2025, from 2-4 p.m. at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Rd. (Rte 83) in Vernon. It was a pleasure to have known Chuckie and have him in our lives. We enjoyed his 4th of July visits and this year was wonderful. He was sincere and loving when ever we were together. He was like a son to us. We have no words to express our great sorrow. He will be missed and forever loved. The world has lost a shining star. Love always, his RI family.
