Ted Freeman Obituary

It is with immense sadness that the family of Ted Alfred Freeman, age 59, announces his unexpected passing on July 8, 2025. Born on February 19, 1966, in Wyandotte, Michigan, Ted was the eldest son of the late Alfred Freeman and Rosemary (Guffey) Freeman.

Ted grew up in Wyandotte, attending local schools, and from a young age showed the lively, adventurous spirit that would define his life. As a young adult, Ted's free spirit was shown through his love of traveling and moving from place to place, soaking up new experiences and never shying away from an adventure.

A hardworking man, Ted found great pride and satisfaction in his career in masonry. He enjoyed the tangible rewards of his work, crafting lasting structures with his own two hands, and was respected for his dedication and strong work ethic. For the past 20 years, Ted shared his life with his beloved partner and best friend, Karen Ford. Together, they navigated life's many ups and downs, always supporting and caring deeply for one another.

Ted was the dear father of Jamie Snider, Kristina Russell, and Brittany Freeman. He also was the stepfather of Lindsay Ford and Damien Lara. His greatest joys came from the moments spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and step grandchildren: Tyler, Desiree, Destiny, Arianna, Jemma, Jahniya, Noah, Donovan, and Nolan.

Ted also leaves behind his brothers, James "Jim-Bob" Freeman and Joe Freeman. He is survived by his loving aunts, Peggy and Dorothy, cousins John Bryant, Jessie Brooks, Jessica Joseph, James Guffey and Jeremy Joseph, his dear friends Steve Romatowski Gregory Carroll and Brian Austin, who were like family as well as grand-pups Lucky, Chance, and Daisy.

Ted loved spending time with children, passing on to them his deep love of nature and the water. Whether it was swimming, snorkeling, or simply enjoying the rain, Ted found peace and happiness near the water.

Ted was a man who truly savored life's simple pleasures. He loved camping, hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting-especially for morels-and grounding himself in nature with bare feet on the earth. He had a playful side, known for being a "garbage disposal" willing to eat and try anything, and took pride in cooking up all kinds of meals. Ted's favorites included a good steak, pepperoni pizza loaded with mushrooms. His Rock and Roll tunes of Ozzy, Black Sabbath, Metallica, Pink Floyd, and many others were always playing in the background of his life, adding a perfect soundtrack to his many adventures.

Ted's memory will live on in countless stories, humor, and zest for life's simple pleasures. His love for his family and friends leaves an enduring legacy in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Ted's cremation is taking place in the care of Solosy Funeral Home.
