Telisa Tiara "Crown" Holder, beloved daughter, mother, sister, and friend, passed away on July 6, 2025, in Jackson, Mississippi. Born on November 9, 1990, in Hinds County, Mississippi, Crown was a lifelong resident of Morton, MS, where she touched the lives of many with her warm spirit and contagious laughter.
Crown was a deeply spiritual person, always seeking comfort and guidance in her faith. She cherished her family, creating countless joyful memories while spending time together. Crown had an adventurous soul, delighting in outings to various restaurants, soaking up the sun at the beach, and sharing her passion for cooking with those she loved.
She leaves behind her devoted parents, Lee Edward Purvis of Brandon, MS, and Tessa Holder of Morton, MS. Crown's legacy continues through her two children, Alexandria Holder and Xavier Jennings, both of Morton, MS, who were the light of her life.
Crown is also survived by her sisters, Amanda Purvis of Jackson, MS, and Leann Purvis Boyd (William) of Houston, TX, and her brothers, Christian Purvis and Justin Purvis of Brandon, MS; Micah Benford of Madison, MS; and Arliss MarQuayle Purvis of Jackson, MS. She shared a special bond with her step-brother, Kirsten Benford, and her maternal grandmother, Katie "Beth" Blocker of Houston, TX. Additionally, she held close relationships with her special aunt, Nancy Yates of Morton, MS, and her aunt, Martha Van Metre of Houston, TX. Crown was also loved by a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who will carry her memory with them.
Crown was predeceased by her brother, Christe'ian Benford, and her aunt, Dee Waters, whose spirit she will always carry in her heart.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Telisa Tiara "Crown" Holder will be held on July 19, 2025, at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. Family and friends are invited to gather at 2 PM, to honor and remember a truly special person who brought joy and light into the lives of all who knew her.
