Mr. Tellis George Everett, Sr. made his transition to eternal life on Sunday, April 13, 2025, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Age 75 years. He was born in Saginaw, Michigan to Tellis and Lucretia Everett.
Tellis was many things to so many people; he was a son, father, husband, uncle, grandfather, and friend. He had a heart of gold and was always looking out for others. He was a great athlete playing basketball and baseball for Saginaw Public Schools. He then went on to serve twenty plus years in the United States Army retiring as Sgt. Everett. Tellis retired from Northwestern Food Bank not too long ago. He was a man that believed in working hard. Tellis loved to barbecue and spend time with family.
He leaves to cherish memories his wife, Joann Everett; his children, Tellis (Carolyn) Everett of West Bloomfield, MI, Lucretia (Daron) Tucker of Hiram, GA, Telisa Williams of Douglasville, GA, Tellis (Taccara) Everett Jr. of Saginaw, MI, Monica (Cody) Robinson, Atlanta, GA, Charles Hill of Saginaw, MI, Tijuana (Addison) Burton of Tyler, TX, Patricia (John) Hayes of Shreveport, LA, Phillip (Lajuanyka) Cook of Shreveport, LA and James Cook of Shreveport, LA; his legacy of grandchildren, Fox Ben (Bihanna) Everett, Lake Everett, Sol Summer Everett and Sage Everett all of West Bloomfield, MI, Londan and Jordan Everett of Saginaw, MI, Diamond Simmons, Dorquincy Jordan and Nevaeh Brown all of Hiram, GA, Crandale Brown and Lavelle Wooden of Douglasville, GA, George Thomas and Domonique Pace of Atlanta, GA, Alexis Burton of Tyler, TX, Avianna (Tony) McGee of Mesa, AZ Greg Hayes of Manhattan, KS, Phillip Cook Jr. of Shreveport, LA, Laura Desdune of Shreveport, LA; his siblings, Kathleen (Edgar) Rainey of Ypsilanti, MI, Terry (Linda) Everett and Carl Everett both of Saginaw, MI and Gregory (Kaye) Everett of Toledo, OH; sisters-in-law, Janice Barnett of Mobile, AL and Denese Smith of Shreveport, LA; brother-in-law, Ronnie Davis of Cullen, LA. He also leaves 18 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; a special aunt, Ellen Kindred, and a special cousin, Ellene Hall; special friends, Mrs. Martha and Mr. Jerry.
Tellis was preceded in death by his parents, Tellis and Lucretia Everett; sisters, Nina Clay and Elizabeth Richmond; brother, Bruce Mosley; special cousin, Thomas Hall; daughter, LeQuanza Magee and granddaughter, Jamaica Campbell.
