Teresa Dickson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Crawford Family Funeral & Cremation Service - Edmond on May 12, 2025.
Teresa Lee (Snow) Dickson was born on May 3, 1959, in Oklahoma City to Pauline and Harold Snow.
Teresa was raised in Oklahoma City and attended Oklahoma City Public Schools. In 1977, Teresa graduated from Classen Sr. High School and worked in retail and corporate accounting. Following high school, Teresa was reacquainted with her high school classmate – James Dickson. This was followed by a three-year romance that would culminate in their marriage in October 1980, and a blessed marriage lasting almost 45 years.
In 1983, Teresa and James welcomed the birth of Christina Lee, followed by Emily Lauren (1987), and James Reid II (1989). Teresa found her life calling in being a mother, and later grandmother to Blakelee Kay and James Birch!
Teresa was most passionate about her family, children, grandchildren, animals, and music. She devoted countless hours to loving and teaching life lessons to Christina, Emily, and James II, and teaching Mother's Day Out and working as a substitute teacher at Will Rogers Elementary School. She loved having sleepovers with Blakelee and Birch and attending their school and athletic events. Teresa loved (really loved) all animals! She was responsible for rescuing numerous stray animals and going to great lengths in finding their owners. She also loved music and was always singing her favorite tunes!
In 2018, Teresa was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's / dementia, an insidious disease that struck down her mother and aunt. Teresa was the primary caregiver for her mother and was well aware of the toll of Alzheimer's, yet she faced it with tremendous strength and courage to the end.
While we will miss her never ending love, and compassion for life, we take comfort knowing that Teresa is in heaven with her family and countless pets, and we will see her again!
The family would like to thank the caregivers at Superior Care Homes of Oklahoma for their loving compassionate care over the past two years, and the loving compassionate care of the staff at Integris Hospice and Integris Hospice House.
Teresa is survived by her husband of almost 45 years – James, daughter and son-in-law Christina & Jay Long, grandchildren Blakelee Kay and James Birch – Edmond, OK, daughter and son-in-law Emily & Scott Interwicz – Edmond, OK, son and daughter-in-law James Reid II and Jackie Dickson – Nashville, TN and sister Paula Killian - Norman, OK.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to the Alzheimer's Association – OKC, Oklahoma City Animal Shelter, or Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation – Alzheimer's Research.
A celebration of life will be held Thursday, May 15th at 2:00pm at Crossing Community Church Chapel with a reception following at Quail Creek Country Club.
