Teresa A. Dixon
Teresa Ann Dixon, daughter of Robert D. and Janet E. (Crew) Dixon, was born April 12, 1948, while her family was living in Stratford, Iowa. She passed away on July 29, 2025, at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, at the age of 77, after a brief battle with cancer.
Teresa grew up in Rolfe, Iowa, attending grades K-12 there. She graduated from Rolfe High School in 1966. She attended Cottey College, the University of Iowa and Simpson College, earning a BA in Education and a Master’s in Library Science. She worked for 2 years at the Tarriff Commission Library in Washington D.C. before moving to Edina, Minnesota, where she worked for St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Company for several years. She was a member of the Rolfe United Methodist Church and Rolfe’s Chapter FR of P.E.O. Teresa was a quiet, private person who enjoyed spending time with her parents and especially enjoyed winter vacations in Tucson, Arizona with them. She also enjoyed time spent with her grandnephews and grandniece (and their parents, of course!). After her parents passed away, she began spending time between their house in Sheldon and her apartment in Edina. In later years, she lived primarily in Sheldon.
Teresa is survived by her brother, Robert J. (Rob) Dixon and his wife, Bonnie, of Sheldon; her niece, Heidi (Chad) Brown of Sheldon, her nephew, Robert W. (Rob) Dixon (Lizzy) of Des Moines and grandnephews, Parker J. Nissen of St. Paul, Minnesota, Carter R. Nissen of Duluth, Minnesota, and Louie and Frankie Dixon, and great niece, Grace Dixon, of Des Moines and several cousins and their families.
Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
