Primrose Funeral Services - DevineIn Loving Memory of Teresa Ann Eaton September 18, 1950 – July 23, 2025
Teresa Ann Eaton, affectionately known as “Gea” by her grandchildren and loved ones, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2025, in Devine, Texas, at the age of 74.
Born on September 18, 1950, in San Diego, California, Teresa was the beloved daughter of Eugenia and James Smith. She married the love of her life, Blaine Eaton, on September 27, 1969, and together they built a life full of love, service, family, and adventure for 54 years.
As a devoted Catholic, Teresa lived her faith daily. For over 20 years, she stood proudly beside her husband as a military wife, offering strength and stability to her family through the many moves and changes that life brought. She worked as a medical assistant in a pediatric clinic, where her gentle spirit and kind heart made a lasting impact on both children and their families.
Her greatest joy came from her family. Teresa was a loving mother to her three children, and she played an instrumental role in raising her grandchildren. In her later years, she poured her time and energy into her church community—participating in A.C.T.S. retreats, Bible studies, Catholic Daughters, Christian Mothers, and teaching catechism to fourth graders, teens, and even adults.
She was also an avid animal lover—no home was ever complete to her without a dog or cat to love.
Teresa is preceded in death by her parents, Eugenia and James Smith. She is survived by her devoted husband, Blaine Eaton; her three children and their spouses, Derrick Eaton, Kimberly Kuykendall (husband Kenny), and Clifford Eaton (wife Jenny); her six grandchildren and their spouses, Ashley Sollock (husband Jeffrey), Brittany Gantt (husband Donovan), Jeremy Eaton, Jacy Eaton, Erin Patino (husband Bryan), and Curtis Kuykendall; her two great-grandchildren, Nolan Sollock and Jackson Sollock; and her many cherished pets over the years.
A rosary will be at 9:30 am followed by the Mass service at 10:00 am will be held in her honor on September 6, 2025 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, in Devine, TX. She will be cremated per her wishes.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Teresa’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association or to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
As The Beatles once sang, “And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.” Teresa lived a life overflowing with love, and her legacy will continue in the hearts of all who knew her.
