Terrance "Terry" Gilbert Port St. Lucia, Florida Formerly of Saginaw, Michigan
Terrance "Terry" Gilbert, born on May 4, 1950, to Thomas J. "Tuck" Gilbert and Jacqueline A. Gilbert (nee Manning), grew up near Saginaw, MI. He always had a wise word and helping hand. Terry overcame childhood challenges and went on to become an upstanding member of society, and a loyal husband, friend and employee. After travelling the U.S., and having many adventures, he settled in Atlanta in the 1980s, where he met his bride of 27 years, Kerri Jackson. Terry died on Sept. 15, peacefully at home, per his wishes. He was surrounded by his loving wife, Kerri, dear friends Patti and Tim, and his beloved dog, Opal.
On July 23, 1998, his life was transformed when he became sober. He has since helped many people with his acts of love and service, and given to many charitable causes, notably Relay for Life in support of his wife, a colon cancer survivor. Although he had no children, he was a father figure and mentor to many young people.
Terry is survived by his loving wife Kerri, sister Gail (Wayne) Beyersdorf, brother-in-law Colin Whitworth, sister-in-law Kristina Jackson, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and dear friends Patti Pendroy and Tim Seibert. Terry was preceded in death by his mother, Jacqueline nee Manning (Gilbert) Dubay, father, Thomas Gilbert Jr., older brother, Thomas Gilbert III, younger brother Timothy Gilbert, and beloved aunt Karen Solek (Manning).
In accordance with the wishes of Terry and his family cremation has taken a place. A Memorial Service honoring his life will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Grace Valley Church, 4570 Mackinaw Road, Saginaw, Michigan 48603. Friends may visit with his family at the church on Saturday, November 22, 2025 from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service. Donations honoring Terry can be made to Mid-Michigan Teen Challenge or the American Cancer Society.
