Terrence Edward Lee
Nov. 29, 1946 -- July 9, 2025
Cranston, RI – Terrence Edward Lee entered his eternal rest on July 9, 2025, as the result of injuries suffered in a fall at his home in April.
Devoted husband for more than 47 years to his wife Joyce (Singer) Lee, who survives him, and will be forever thankful for the wonderful life they shared. Terrence is the cherished father of Daniel Lee and his wife, Tiffany, of West Warwick, and Andrea Lee, of Walpole, MA. He always was a totally present father for all their activities and was proud of all they accomplished.
Terrence is the adored Pops to his two beloved grandchildren, Zachary Lee and McKenna Lee. Pops tried to attend all of Zachary's soccer and basketball games, and McKenna's Irish step dancing recitals.
He is the son of the late Agnes (Killay) Lee and Harry Lee. Terrence is the beloved brother of Karen Lee of Warwick, Deborah Lee of East Providence, Brenda Russell of Arizona, Kevin Lee of Warwick and the late Adrienne Lee of Cranston. Terrence leaves numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and very many friends to honor his memory.
Perhaps he will be best remembered as the man with the bushy mustache who walked the streets of his Edgewood community for six miles every day, and you could set your clock by when he would pass by your house with a smile and a greeting.
Born in Providence, he was a 1964 graduate of Cranston High School West and a 1967 graduate of Providence College. He earned his MSW in 1984 from Rhode Island College. He served honorably in the Rhode Island Army National Guard in the 1970's. He had a 38-year career with the state of RI in the Department of Human Services and later DCYF.
Terrence always was eager to challenge himself. Later in life, he learned to play the piano. In doing genealogical research, he discovered his Chinese lineage. As a result, he learned to speak Mandarin. Terrence had a life well-lived and was a man well-loved.
Visitation will be at the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Warwick, on Monday, July 14, 2025, from 10:30 – 12:00 PM immediately followed by a funeral service at 12 PM. Burial will be in Pawtuxet Memorial Park Cemetery, Warwick.
