Terry Brown
PRICE-Our loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Terry Leigh Brown, age 81, passed away June 28, 2025 after a short but courageous battle with cancer.
He was born August 1, 1943 in Price, Utah to Wilfred "Bill" Russell and Arline Margaret Houton Brown.
Terry married Judy Hardy on May 11, 1963 in Elko, Nevada; they later divorced. On June 5, 1970, he married JoAnn Birch, she preceded him in death on June 28, 1983. Terry later married Evelyn Clark on January 5, 1985 in Price, Utah; she passed away on October 13, 2006.
Terry was an avid fisherman whose two favorite things in life were fly/lure fishing and bowling. He knew the best fishing holes from Utah to Montana and he broke two Utah State records for Tiger Trout. Terry was a true sportsman and loved to "catch and release", unless someone really wanted one. The only two fish he ever kept for himself were the two state records that he had mounted. Terry proudly showed everyone his record catches.
Terry fished in a lot of different states, but his favorite places were in Montana where his grandfather taught him how to fish as a young boy. He cherished his childhood summers spent in Montana with his grandparents where he would fish and play ball. He was also an accomplished bowler and member of several different leagues throughout the years where he won numerous awards and trophies.
Terry was a friend to many and made countless lifelong relationships. His closest and best friend, John Giacoletto, had been friends with Terry for 52 years. They bowled together, fished together, and for the past 20 years, spent every Wednesday evening together at John's shop having coffee and solving the world's problems.
Terry worked as a tire specialist for most of his career and even helped engineer tires for Mitco Tire. One of his true passions was training his beloved dogs. He was like a true dog whisperer. His favorite dog was a sweet girl named "Pepper". They went everywhere together, from the store to fishing on the mountains, and she was never on a leash because he had trained her so well. He eventually ended up with his best dog,Titan, who wasn't well trained until Terry got him. They would train and walk the town together every single day, often 3-5 miles, up until the last few weeks before Terry's passing.
Terry was loved by many and will be dearly missed by his family and a community of friends.
Terry is survived by his children, Carol Brown, Price, Gayla Brown, Michigan, Sue (Chris) Dunlap, Stephanie Dunlap, Davie Udink, all of Price; his brother, Kenneth (Carol) Brown, South Jordan; 20 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ray (Patricia) Brown; sister, Margaret Jane Henrie; sons, "Little T." Terry Brown and Nathan Udink; his wives, JoAnn Birch Brown and Evelyn Clark Brown; and a granddaughter, Shandi Strandell.
