GREENVILLE -- Terry Hess, age 79, of Greenville, OH, passed away on July 19, 2025, at Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 8, 1946, to the late Orist Joseph & Granny (Phyllis) (Herkins) Hess.
He is preceded in death by his parents; father & mother-in-law, Wilbur & Esther Oswalt; brother, Jay Hess; stillborn son, Troy Joseph Hess; nephew Jason Hess; brothers-in-law, Rex Whitmer, Doug Bender and Larry Arnett.
Terry never knew a stranger. He loved his Mack truck and enjoyed going to antique truck shows and steam thresher shows. He also enjoyed working in his auto parts store, Ansonia Auto Parts with his son-in-law Ted.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Barb (Oswalt) Hess; children, Brian Hess and Stephanie Adkins (Ted); grandson, Mason Adkins; sisters, Barbara Whitmer and Judy Gainey (Ken); brothers, Tom Hess (Jeanne), Roger Hess (Ilene) and Herb Hess; sister-in-law, Linda Arnett; close friend, Pete Dietrich and numerous beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Kreitzer Funeral Home 204 N. Main St. Arcanum, OH on Friday, July 25, 2025, with a service to follow at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Jerry Collins officiating. Burial will follow at Abbottsville Cemetery in Arcanum, OH.
