Terry Wassinger Obituary

Terry Dale Wassinger, 79, passed away on July 8th, 2025, at his home in Ness City KS. He was born on January 9, 1946, in Ransom, Kansas to Eddie Sr. and Sylvia (Schweitzer) Wassinger.
He graduated from Ness City High School, Class of 1964. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served four years.
Terry was married to Garna Reyner and to this union was born a son, Darnel Lee Wassinger. They later divorced.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Bazine American Legion Olin Cole Post 392 and the Southwest Kansas Veterans Funeral Honor Guard.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, brother Eddie Wassinger Jr., brother-in-law Dan Frick and nephew Brandon Frick.
He is survived by his son, Darnel (Kathi) Wassinger of Wichita; 3 sisters, Sandy (Larry) Barricklow of Sarasota Florida, Sherry Frick of Oakley, Tammi (Craig) Foos of Bazine; 3 grandchildren, DJ (Miranda) Wassinger of Albany New York, Angie Palmer (Brett Brockman) of Pratt, Kyler Johnston of Seattle Washington; 5 great-grandchildren, Beau Palmer, Aurora Brockman, Brecken Brockman, Melody Wassinger and Addy Johnston.
Inurnment will take place with a graveside service to be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Ness City. Military honors to be presented by the United States Air Force, Bazine American Legion Olin Cole Post 392 and the Southwest Kansas Veterans Funeral Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to the Sacred Heart Cemetery Fund or Olin Cole Post 392. Memorials may be dropped off at Fitzgerald Furniture, Ness City or sent to Fitzgerald Funeral Home, PO Box 96, Ness City KS 67560.
