Theresa Louise Doll Mathews Davolt, age 69, of Bevier, MO, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2025 at the Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL, surrounded by her family.
Theresa was born on February 10, 1956 in St. Louis, MO to Jerome and Patsy Doll. At the age of 6, Theresa and her brother Jerry were adopted by Orville and Mae Mathews of Memphis, MO; where she lived until the age of 19. On March 25, 1978 she married Jimmie Davolt of Macon, becoming a mother to John. She gave birth to three children, James Richard (J.R.), Chris Davolt, and Angela. Sadly, James Richard passed away at 8 moths old. Theresa worked in Child Care for fifteen years, then worked at Con Agra for 10 years before becoming disabled. Theresa had a great sense of humor.
Theresa is survived by her three children, John Davolt of Macon, Christopher Davolt and his friend Morgan of Macon, and Angela Davolt and her friend Tiffany of Macon; three grandchildren, Grayson Davolt, Aurora Davolt, and Cashmere Davolt, all of Macon. She is also survived by her six siblings, Annie Vines of San Bernardino, CA, Charlene Doll of Eastvale, CA, Herry Mathews and his wife Pam of Albertville, AL, George and Marlene Hamilton of Chico, CA, Sandra Maiden of Victorville, CA; her very special friend, Mercedes Patterson of Macon; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Mae Mathews, Jerome Doll, Patsy Watson; one son, James Richard (J.R.) Davolt; and three nephews, Stanley, Steven, and Nathan.
Funeral service will be 11:00 am, Thursday, July 10, 2025 at the Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home in Macon, MO. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, north of Macon. Visitation will be Thursday morning at 10:00 am, until the time of the service, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family for expenses or the Randy Johnson Memorial Fund.
