Therese Helen Kragenbring, 87, of Atwater died Friday, July 25, 2025, at her home. Her memorial service will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, August 2nd at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar. Visitation will be one hour prior to her service. Burial will be at a later date at St. Mary's Cemetery in Atwater. www.hafh.org.

Therese Kragenbring was born on October 29, 1937, to William John and Helena Therese (Frank) Wohnoutka in Bechyn, Minnesota. She was baptized at the Church of St. Mary's in Bechyn and later confirmed at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Olivia.

Therese began her education at the elementary school in Bechyn, then attended Olivia Country School from 4th grade through 7th grade. She attended eighth grade at St Aloysius Catholic School. She graduated from Olivia High School in 1955.

On March 10, 1955, she was united in marriage to Robert Dean Kragenbring. During Robert's service in the Air Force, the couple lived in Reno, and Sparks, Nevada. In 1963 the couple settled in Atwater. They purchased the Wheeler dairy farm in 1966, where they raised their family, and farmed together for 33 years retiring in 1999.

Therese cherished her life on the farm and was known for her exceptional cooking and baked goods. She enjoyed gardening and caring for her houseplants, as well as golfing, playing cards and games, and spending time with her beloved family.

Therese and Robert loved to travel visiting Myrtle Beach, Florida, Reno, Las Vegas, Washington, D.C., and many other places. After Robert's passing in 2006, Therese continued to travel with her sisters. Enjoying trips to Branson, Las Vegas, as well as day trips to the theater, arboretum and other excursions. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. Her kind spirit and warm heart will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Therese is survived by her children: Cheryl (Mark) Norlien of Atwater, Kevin Kragenbring of Atwater, Linda Carlson of Danube, Kay Bawroski of Atwater, and Colleen (Rick) Miller of Madison Lake; son-in-law, Jerry Newton of New York Mills: 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Margaret (Richard) Bergo, Phyllis Berninger, Betty (Marvin) Dubert, Diane (Al) Nichols, Karen (Dennis) Barta, and Deb (Lionel) Kull as well as many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; daughters, Deborah and Danette, parents, four brothers and three sons in law.
