Thomas Joseph Cooper, 80, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025, joining his beloved wife, Donna Cooper, and his parents, James and Ellen Cooper, in eternal rest with the Lord.
Born in Queens, New York, Thomas was one of three children and a proud graduate of St. Francis University, class of 1967. That same year, he began serving his country in the United States Army, where he remained until 1970. Following his military service, Thomas embarked on a distinguished career with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, serving as a Special Agent for over 30 years until his retirement.
Thomas's greatest pride was his family. He shared a beautiful life with his loving wife, Donna, and together they raised four sons-Thomas, Paul, Matthew, and Brian. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Thomas was happiest when surrounded by loved ones, whether traveling together or cheering on his beloved New York Mets.
He is survived by his sons: Thomas Cooper (wife Tara and daughter Reagan), Paul Cooper (daughters Cameron and Cassidy), Matthew Cooper (wife Hunter and son Rhys), and Brian Cooper (wife Courtney, son Dylan, and daughter Addison). He also leaves behind his sister, Mary Rita Salt, and brother, James Cooper (wife Martha), as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Thomas's life at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, from 6 to 8 PM. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at Church of the Holy Family at 11 AM on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, followed by burial at Princess Anne Memorial Park. A reception will follow at Just George's, 1956 Laskin Rd., beginning at 3 PM.
