Thomas "Tommy" Edward Leumas, 61, of Metairie, LA, passed away in his home on January 10, 2025. Tommy was born in Duluth, MN, on January 29, 1963. He is survived by his beloved wife of 26 years, Anita Elisabeth Leumas; daughter Candice Fisher (Alex Donez); grandchildren Payton, Donovan, Delilah, and Michelle; mother Dolores Sullivan Leumas; siblings Michael J. Leumas (Carmella), Christopher J. Leumas (Becky), Gregory J. Leumas (Donna), Kathleen A. Loyd, and John P. Leumas (Sharon); and numerous nephews, nieces, grandnephews, and grandnieces. He was preceded in death by his father, M.J. Leumas Jr., brother James K. Leumas, and sister-in-law Julie Bergeron Leumas.
He graduated from Rummel High School in Metairie, LA, and Southeastern Louisiana University. For over thirty-eight years, Tommy was employed by Wells Fargo Financial (formerly General Electric Capital Financial Services). He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and enjoyed playing soccer and guitar. He was an active member of the Catholic Church; he volunteered with the Holy Name Society Men's Club, received the St. Louis medal in 2009, and was a 4th-degree member of the Knights of Columbus. His favorite pastime was spending time with his wife, daughter, and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be on Friday, January 17, 2025, at St. Ann Church and National Shrine, 4940 Meadowdale St, Metairie, LA 70006. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., immediately followed by Mass. Following the Mass, there will be a celebration of life, during which we ask that everyone wear a Hawaiian shirt to celebrate Tommy's spirit.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations made in Tommy's name towards the Chondrosarcoma Foundation. https://csfshayna.org/donate-to-chondrosarcoma-foundation/

Tommy had the most beautiful smile that could light up the even the darkest of days. He was such an inspiration to so many. I often told him how his smile could light up the world!

Tommy was always upbeat and a man of positive action, a good example.
He will be greatly missed by his family and all that knew him.
He's resting in the arms of Jesus and Mary.
May the Holy Spirit console Anita and their family during their bereavement.

Sorry to hear of your passing Tommy. You are the most cheery and my favorite co-worker of all time. I enjoyed going to Mass with you at our meetings, especially twice on Ash Wednesday. Save me a spot up there bro

Tommy would always look for me when he and Anita would come to the store. He always had a smile as big as the ocean and make a humorous comment. Such a sweet man.
