Thomas Smith Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jun. 17, 2025.
Thomas Allen Smith, 62, of Birdseye, Indiana passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2025, in Eckerty, Indiana.
He was born on December 16, 1962, in Corydon, Indiana to Coy Lee and Susan Nel (Bernardi) Smith.
Tom was a true outdoorsman, who found joy in the simple things in life. He liked to be outside in nature, especially fishing and gardening. Tom liked to watch football and read. He had a natural talent for mechanics, he loved to tinker and spent time working on projects – whether it was fixing small engines, go-karts, dirt bikes, and cars. Tom had a great sense of humor and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and will be deeply missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and an infant brother, Daniel Coy Smith.
Tom is survived by his children, Ryan (Karen) Smith of Dallas, Texas, Brandie (Adam) Petry of Birdseye, Indiana, his grandchildren, Breck Smith, Kai Smith, Finnick Smith, Laney Vaughn, Liam Petry, siblings, Bob Smith, Bill Smith, Joe Smith, Angel Smith, and several nieces and nephews.
While we are saddened by his passing, he would want us to remember the good times and keep his legacy in our hearts and share them with a laugh and raise a toast on his behalf.
Cremation was chosen according to his wishes. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at the Birdseye Conservation Club from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
