Tim McCoy Collins, 77, of Bethany, Missouri, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2025, after a long battle with cancer, at his home with his loving wife and sister by his side.

Tim was born in Pattonsburg, Missouri to Lucille (Tunnell) and Leo Collins on August 4, 1947. They preceded him in deat. He grew up in Pattonsburg with his 2 brothers and 4 sisters. Before finishing high school he joined the Navy in 1964 and served in the Vietnam War the last year of his service returning home in 1968.

He met his wife in 1987 and they were married on September 30, 1990. And later on that same year, while watching the 700 Club, he accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his savior while praying with Pat Robertson.

He was preceeded in death by his brothers, John and Garland Collins and his sisters, Judy Weldon, Sue Fitzgerald, and Barbara Jones.

He is survived by his wife Roena; sister Penny Collins; nieces Lisa, Angie, Heather, Stacey, and Kelly; and nephews Jason and Ernie. They never had any children of their own but he is survived by 3 step children, Mike Cook of Eagleville, MO, Matt (Kelley) Cook of Bethany, MO, and Melisha (Bill) Pilgrim of Tulsa, OK; nine step grandchildren; and one step great grandson. He loved his wife's children and grandchildren as his own and loved spending time with them.

He had several jobs in the course of his life including Stowes Hardware in Kansas City and Lambert Cap Factory in Gallatin and Bethany. In 1988 he started work at the Western Missouri Correctional Facility in Cameron, Mo. He retired after over 24 years of service. He made many friends while working there but enjoyed being retired even more.

He loved going to his step grandson's baseball, basketball, and football games. He enjoyed all of his grandchildren and loved being with them. He enjoyed mowing and loved watching the Chief's football games.

He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

A graveside service with military honors will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at Miriam Cemetery in Bethany, Missouri. Memorials and contributions are suggested to the Harrison County Cancer Fund. Online condolences can be left at www.robersonfuneralhome.com.
