Timothy Layman Obituary

Timothy Garrett Layman, 70, of Lakeview, OH, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, July 6, 2025, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, OH.
Timothy was born in Ironton, OH, on May 28, 1955, a son of the late Richard "Dick" E. Layman, Sr., and Ruth Bryant Layman, who survives in Lakeview.
Tim is survived by his mother, Ruth, a son, Justin G. Layman, a brother, Richard "Rick" E. Layman, Jr., and a hosted of beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Tim was a 1973 graduate of Worthington High School. He was a passionate wrestler and was offered multiple scholarships throughout high school. Tim was a member of Community Missionary Baptist Church in Ironton, and was baptized by his grandfather and namesake, Timothy Francis Bryant. Tim enjoyed cooking, golfing, boating, and jet skiing. He loved the "lake life" on Indian Lake. Tim's greatest joys were spending time with his family, and he lived his life with a deep faith in God's Love.
Reverends Karen Blackburn and Jim Ellington will begin funeral services at 12:00 noon, Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Indian Lake Community Church, 121 N. Orchard Island Road, Russells Point, OH with visitation one hour prior to services. Graveside services will be 12:30 pm. Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Community Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 198 Community Cemetery Drive, Deering, OH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in Tim's memory to Community Baptist Church cemetery fund, c/o Community Missionary Baptist Church, 4049 St Rt 243, Ironton, OH 45638.
