Todd ‘Nic’ Nicolas, 61, of Jackson Twp, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on August 29, 2025, from a heart attack. Born on September 29, 1963, Todd’s life ended too soon, but he lived each day with joy, intention, and love.
Above all, Todd was devoted to his family. His heart was full when teaching life lessons to his children and creating lasting memories—whether gathered around a bonfire, relaxing at the beach, grilling out, or cheering at a baseball game. Todd’s most blissful moments included biking thru Hilton Head with his Wife, roasting marshmallows for his Granddaughter and watching his Son strike out the side.
Known for his big personality, Todd valued relationships first and made meaningful connections throughout his community. If you were lucky enough to meet Todd, you know he had a knack for turning a quick wave into a 15min+ conversation. He was passionate in his faith, committed to serving others, and found deep appreciation in life’s simple gifts, like the smell of fresh-cut grass or the beauty of a sunset.
Todd attended Warren Howland High School before going on to pitch for the baseball team at Youngstown State University, where he also met the love of his life, Michelle. His career in finance spanned numerous banks and roles, ultimately culminating in commercial lending at Commercial Savings Bank. Beyond work, Todd gave his time generously as a youth sports coach, most recently with Jackson Township travel basketball. Through coaching, he touched countless young lives, leaving behind wisdom and faith that will endure. He cherished his time on the golf course with friends not only for the sport but for the fellowship that it fostered.
Todd is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Michelle Nicolas; their children, Jenna Meyer (Charlie), Blake Nicolas (Kelly), and Kyle Nicolas (Allison); his beloved granddaughter, Sloane; and his siblings, Tim Nicolas (Jan) and Wendy Nicolas. He will be fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Barbara (Gray) Nicolas.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2025, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow on Monday, September 8, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Jackson Friends Church Sports Ministry Program.
