Tom Corley, 74 former Mooreland resident, died Saturday, December 21, 2024 at his home in Ponca City. Graveside memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 3, 2025 at the Mooreland Cemetery. Burial will follow with the United States Army providing military rites.
Thomas Glen Corley was born on May 26, 1950 in Stillwater, Oklahoma to Kenneth and Ann (Yager) Corley. Tom grew up in Mooreland and graduated from Mooreland High School in 1968. He was united in marriage to Kathy Dauphin in May of 1975. They were blessed with Jocelyn in 1977, Whitney in 1983, and Kenna in 1985. They moved to Colorado in August of 1975 and lived there for five years. While there, he worked part-time and attended and graduated from the University of Northern Colorado. They moved back to northwest Oklahoma in 1981 and lived in Woodward before moving to Mooreland. Tom worked in several area companies and made numerous work friends before retiring from Chesapeake in 2012 because of his Parkinson's with dementia.
Tom's favorite pastime without a doubt was fishing but he also loved gardening and woodworking. He loved spending time with his daughters and his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Kathy Corley of the home in Ponca City; three daughters: Jocelyn Corley of Arkansas City, Kansas, Whitney Corley and partner Tracey Gay of Winfield, Kansas, Kenna Morrison and husband Matthew of Andover, Kansas; grandchildren: Kalyn Corley, Karsynn Washington, and Tomlyn Morrison; siblings: Jeannie Boone and husband Tom of Broken Arrow, Pat Corley and wife Georgianna of Shawnee, Kansas, Judy Parker and husband Carroll of Hudson, Colorado, Linda Martin and husband Denny of Pensacola, Florida, Pam Nelson and husband Terry of Stillwater; other relatives and many friends.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother Marjorie Corley, one brother, Ken Corley, and two sisters Donna Corley and Connie Stewart.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mooreland Public School Athletic Department.
