Traci Lynn VanSteenburg-Dugan, 57, of Valatie, NY, passed away peacefully at home on June 13, 2025.
Born in Hudson, NY, on June 4, 1968, Traci was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Bonnie Shaw-VanSteenburg. She was a proud graduate of the Ichabod Crane High School Class of 1987 and later attended Mildred Elley Business School. Her path in life led her through many roles, but above all, she was a mother, a loving grandmother, and a fiercely loyal friend.
After raising her children, Traci stepped boldly into entrepreneurship, becoming the proud owner and operator of the Niverville Pub in Niverville, NY. It was more than just a bar-it was a place where laughter, storytelling, and friendship flowed as freely as the drinks she served. On Friday nights, Traci could be found "holding court" at the bar, catching up with the current gossip and enjoying every second of the time spent with close friends and creating many new friendships from the people who found their way into The Pub and Traci's world.
Traci loved her family more than anything in the world. Her love could be tough when it needed to be, but it was always real, always deep. Her happiest moments were spent surrounded by her children and grandchildren-especially during the holidays. She cherished baking cookies, preparing for the festive visit from the Valatie Santa Claus Club, that she as a child enjoyed and since passed on to her children and grandchildren as well.
An avid racing fan, Traci loved the adrenaline of the dirt tracks and took joy in road trips to Weidsport and Oswego. She loved and found peace by the ocean and found joy during her vacations to Florida and the Delaware seashore.
She is survived by her loving partner and companion, Jacob James Seamon; her sister, Cammie VanSteenburg Fix (Robert); her daughters, Kayla Lynn Dugan and Sierra Elizabeth Jennings; her sons, Nicholas Dugan (Morgan) and Dakota Michael Jennings; and her cherished grandchildren: Autym Skye Dugan, Rickey Darin Dymond Jr., Natalyn Mae Dugan, Aubrel Isabella Blowers, and Hensley Noelle Dugan.
Traci's spirit will live on in the laughter of her grandchildren, in every wave that crashes on the shore, and in the hearts of the countless lives she touched. She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. Dance on, dancing queen.
A celebration of Traci's life will be held on Saturday, June 21st at 5 PM at the Niverville Pub, 105 Parker Hall Road, Niverville, NY 12130.
The family extends special gratitude to the nurses and aides of The Community Hospice for their compassionate care.
