Dateline: Godfrey, Illinois
Tracy "Sis" J. McGuire, 76, of Godfrey, passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Missouri Baptist Hospital, at 6:02 pm surrounded by family.
She was born in Kampsville, IL, on September 30, 1948, the daughter of Eugene and Bernice (Lehr) Baumann. Tracy married William "Ray" McGuire in Godfrey in November of 1992.
Tracy worked at Owens Illinois, then later at Olin Corporation in the primer department before her retirement. She enjoyed thrift shopping, going to yard sales, camping, and riding her bike. Tracy found great joy in the company of her grandchildren, cherishing every moment spent with them. She was a devoted grandmother, always eager to create lasting memories through shared experiences. Her love for animals extended to her "mini farm" of chickens, ducks, rabbits, goats, cats and her dog, Wendy. She and Ray loved to take long car rides through the country, which he will miss greatly.
Along with her husband, Ray, she is survived by her children, Tonya (Kurt) Brown of Bethalto, and Jason Manka of Brighton; siblings, Charlie "Butch" (JoAnn) Baumann of Godfrey, and Patricia Roach of Jerseyville; grandchildren, Nathan (Peyton) Brown, Cody (Korin) Wahle, Jacob (Brittany) Brown, Jason (Josie) Brown, Faith Manka, Nicholas Brown, and Dakota Manka; as well as seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A celebration of life visitation will be held on Monday, July 21, 2025, from 4 pm until time of service at 6:30 pm, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Bruce McEwan will officiate.
Memorials are suggested to Beverly Farm Foundation.
