Troy Hassig Obituary

Elden Troyer Hassig, lovingly known as Troy, passed away unexpectedly on June 18, 2025, at the age of 62, leaving behind a legacy of laughter and love.

Born in Salt Lake City, Utah on August 9 th , 1962, Troy spent much of his life in Colorado, where he found joy in the great outdoors and in cheering on his favorite teams, the Broncos, Colorado Avalanche, and Colorado University Buffalos. His warmth, humor, and kindness touched everyone he met.

Troy had many occupations. He most recently worked for many years as a Senior Branch Operations Manager at MAU Staffing services and was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his job. Many in the MAU family will deeply miss Troy.

Troy was a fun-loving soul with a heart full of laughter and generosity. He loved fishing and camping under the stars, found immense joy in traveling, but more importantly he always loved spending time with his family. Troy was a passionate sports fan, he never missed a chance to cheer on the Broncos or catch a game, no matter the season or sport. He was known to catch a Weber State football game in the morning and head over to Dee Events Center to catch a basketball game in the same day. He also loved taking his grandkids to the ice rink to watch the Ogden Mustangs play.

Troy had a deep love for music, whether it was cheering on his kids and grandkids at their marching band performances or enjoying live shows at the Ogden Twilight concerts, Troy was always seen with a smile and a heart full of love and music.

Troy and his wife, Julie, were married for over 30 years and raised three children together. Nothing brought Troy more happiness than his kids and grandkids. Sunday dinners, concerts, sports games, board game nights, you name it Troy was up to doing it so long as his family was around.

In recent months, Troy found special joy and companionship with his girlfriend, Ann Clausing Wilson, and the time they spent together was a blessing to them both. Troy leaves behind a wide circle of extended family and friends who will deeply miss his warmth, humor, and the love he shared so freely.

Troy’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and deep devotion to family. His presence made life brighter, and his memory will be cherished always. Above all, Troy was most proud of his family.

He is survived by his children, Katie (Jeff Bass) Fultz, Brandi (Nick) Sharp, Matt (Abby) Hassig, and by his grandchildren, Hunter “Red Devil,” Drayden “Bug,” Carter “Boogie,” Kamden “Ska,” Luca “The Lucster,” and Hartley “Hartey Barp,” who brought him endless joy and laughter. He also leaves behind his brothers, Curtis (Eva) Hassig and Terry (Karen Fodor) Wuthrich, and his sister-in-law, Terry Hassig.

Troy was preceded in death last year by his brother, Jim Hassig.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at Lindquist’s Syracuse Mortuary, 869 S 2000 W, Syracuse. Friends may meet family from 12:30 to 1:30 PM at the Mortuary.
