Tyrone Eugene Brown was born to Ella Jane and Joseph Brown, Jr. on June 5, 1970 in Anderson, South Carolina. He departed this life on June 26, 2025. Tyrone will be remembered for the love he gave, the kindness he showed, and the many lives he touched along the way.
At an early age, Tyrone accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and became a devoted member of Macedonia Holiness Church in Belton, SC. He carried his faith into every part of his life, always guided by a strong sense of purpose. Tyrone had a heart for people-he found joy in bringing others together, creating unity, and spreading love. He often reflected on the values his parents instilled in him: love, respect, and kindness-principles he lived by daily.
Tyrone was blessed with many talents. He had a natural artistic gift for drawing and was recognized early in life when he received the Lieutenant Governor's Award for Exploratory Writing. He also had a love for basketball-playing for the community recreation center and spending time on the court with his little brother, Antonio. After their games, the two would often go fishing, turning it into a playful competition. Their paternal grandmother, Eunice, and their father lovingly taught them how to fish-creating special memories they both carried through life. As the middle child, Tyrone had a unique ability to make both his siblings feel seen and cherished. His big sister Eunice was his very first best friend, and together they shared a love for laughter and humor, just like their father. He always had her back, and their bond remained unbreakable.
Tyrone was educated in the public schools of Abbeville County, SC. After completing Dixie high school, he entered the workforce and remained committed to supporting his family. He was the proud father of two children, Shaquan and Tyreshia, who were the center of his world.
Known for his warm spirit and giving heart, Tyrone had a special love for children and took joy in making them smile. He also had a passion for cooking and could often be found preparing meals for family gatherings. Five years ago, Tyrone moved to Philadelphia, drawn by the energy and opportunity of city life, as well as the chance to be closer to his extended family. He embraced the culture, accessibility, and change of pace the city offered. It was a fresh chapter that allowed him to grow, explore, and spend meaningful time with loved ones-all of which brought him great joy.
Tyrone was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Brown, Jr., his brother-in-law Curtis McDuffie, and his maternal grandmother Rosie Ada Freeman Brown.
Tyrone leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved children, Shaquan Alonzo Brown and Tyreisha Aleah Brown; his loving mother, Ella Jane Brown; his siblings, Eunice McDuffie and Antonio Brown; 3 step children: Mandrell Mitchell, Jeremy Head, and Jerome Head; a special friend: Raquel Sacerdote and her daughter Juliana; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will miss him greatly and continue to carry his light forward.
