Viola Marie Walker, born on June 3, 1943, in Matagorda, Texas, passed away on July 2, 2025, in Houston, Texas. She was a beloved member of her community and a dedicated parishioner at Full Gospel Lighthouse in Sweeny, Texas.
A cherished mother, Viola is survived by her: Terri Newsome, Diana Crocker, and her husband Dennis, Jennifer Carter and her husband John, and Gary Walker, Jr. She was also a proud grandmother to her grandchildren: Lewis Sanchez and his wife Juana, Ryan Sanchez and his wife Ashley, Benjamin Newsom, April Carter, and Glenn Carter. The legacy of love she nurtured continues through her great-grandchildren: Sydney, Taylor, Ruby, Ana, Valeria, Michael, Mylah, Naveah, Helaina, and Maliyah.
Viola was raised alongside her siblings, who include Alberta Teague, Barbara Pyle, Fannie Cossin, Harold Sisson, Ronnie Sisson, and Danny Sisson. Her family tree extends with the enduring memories shared through laughter and support.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Houston and Fannie (Plant) Sisson, as well as her son David LeRoy Henderson and her daughter Pamela Sue Davis. Viola also mourned the loss of her siblings Wanda, Linda, and Houston, Jr., bringing a profound sense of loss to her family over the years.
In her daily life, Viola found immense enjoyment in simple pleasures, such as watching movies, diving into a good book, and engaging her mind with puzzles and word searches. These hobbies reflected her vibrant personality and zest for life.
Viola Marie Walker leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion to her family and friends, and her spirit will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
A memorial service will be held by her family at a later date.
