Mrs. Casey, you are gone but not forgotten. I mentioned you to some friends just the other day. We were talking about how so many mum and pop businesses, including family farms, have either had to close or reinvent themselves in the face of corporate competition. I remembered you and Mr. Casey and how you both blazed a trail to "reinvent yourselves" upon moving to Vermont and opening the bookstore there. In those days no one talked about "reinventing themselves," but that is why both of you and many other people have done over the millennia.
You will always be "alive" in the memories of those who knew you. I pray you both rest in peace with the Father.

I remember Mrs. Casey from my childhood in New Orleans. Her son Marty was best friends with my older brother, Gary. They both attended St. Mary of the Angels Catholic School.
I remember Mrs. Casey as a kind, gentle, and generous lady who was always so very busy with children, cooking, the house, and of course Church, but she always had time for her neighbours and fellow parishioners.
The Casey family moved to Vermont in 1969, and they were missed by all their friends in New Orleans. Mrs. Casey and I corresponded for a few years after they moved to Vermont. I was only nine years old at the time the family moved to Vermont, but Mrs. Casey made me feel very special and grown up by keeping up a correspondence with me. She was my first pen pal.
Inevitably I suppose, we eventually lost contact, but I never forgot Mrs. Casey and her family. I am sorry to know she has passed, but I know if there is a heaven, Mrs. Casey and Mr. Casey are happy there together now. May they both rest in peace.
I wish I knew how to contact Marty. I would enjoy speaking to him after all these years.

All ways so good to me. I still remember the army color mittens with the brown fur you sent me when you were serving our country. Love you Aunt Violet.
