Violet Kelley Obituary

Violet was born in Mitchell, Nebraska on June 30, 1937, and lived in Hereford since 1967. She was the daughter of the late Dave and Sarah Derr Reichert. Violet enjoyed cooking and retired as the cafeteria manager for Hereford Independent Schools where her cinnamon rolls are still spoken about to this day.
In addition to her parents, Violet was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence D. Kelley; son, David Kelley; daughter, Sherry McKibben; grandson, Michael Kelley; brother, Don Reichert; and sister, Judy Krausie. Violet is survived by her daughter, Vickie (Dean) Cheney of Gordonville, Texas; son, Randy (Carla) Kelley of Lamar, Arkansas; grandchildren: Shawna (Kyle) King, Shayla Jones, Sara Kelley, Amber Kelley, Tabitha (Nathan) Mitchell, Robyn Cheney, Cassandra McKibben-McNeil (Jermain McNeil), Jory (Anne) McKibben, Nichole McKibben (Mark Richard), and Matthew Kelley; numerous great-grandchildren; son-in-law, David McKibben; and several nephews and nieces.
A celebration of Violet's life will be 2:00 PM Saturday, July 12 at Parkside Chapel Funeral Directors, 601 Main Street. Burial will be at West Park Cemetery. Violet will lie in state 12:00 Noon to 5:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
