Virginia Carol Bearden, age 67, of Chattanooga, passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2025. She was born on October 29, 1957, in Scottsboro, AL to the late George T. Russell and Noble Dunn Canoy.

Virginia was a beloved daughter, mother, sister, and aunt. She was known for her kind spirit, strength, and the love she had for her family. Though she faced many hardships, she carried herself with quiet grace and determination.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George T. Russell and Noble Dunn Canoy; her son, Richard L. Mayo; and her brothers, George S. Russell, Ricky P. Russell, Eddie W. Russell, Randy D. Russell, and Thomas W. Russell.

Virginia is survived by her loving nephews, Jason Russell, Eric Smith, Elijah Smith, Ethan Smith and Anthony Russell; nieces, Reaghen Russell, Lisa Russell, Millie Carno, Samantha Russell, Carey Atterton and Karen Russell; daughter-in-law, Donna Mayo and a host of extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.

Family will receive friends 11AM-2PM, CST, Thursday, July 17, 2025.

Funeral Service 2PM, CST, Thursday, July 17, 2025, in the funeral home chapel with Brother Jack Daniel officiating. Interment to follow at Preston Cemetery in Scottsboro, AL.
