Wade McKinley Stout, Jr., 95, of Siler City, passed away Wednesday, July 2nd, 2025, at his home. He was born February 4th, 1930, in Siler City, NC to the late Wade M. Stout, Sr. and Berta Maness Stout. His mother became ill when Wade was very young, so he and his father moved to a farm with his aunt Vannie Stout Perry and her son, Edward L. Perry. Wade and Edward grew up on the farm and they remained close cousins for the remainder of their lives. He became an automotive mechanic and married Mary Kinney in 1950. In the 1960s, Wade became a sewing machine mechanic at A.J. Schneirson’s, where he would work for 30 years. During his working years, he would become a “Jack of all Trades” who could fix or repair anything mechanical.
Wade and his beloved wife, Mary raised a wonderful family with two sons, four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild. As lifelong church members, they both were active with various roles and support programs prior to declining health. For over 65 years, Wade planted and harvested vegetables from his large garden. He always shared the large quantities from the garden with extended family, friends, and neighbors.
Wade is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Mary K. Stout. He is survived by his children, Phil Stout (June) of Pittsboro, Doug Stout of Siler City; his grandchildren, Chris Stout, Nichole (Jake) Barlow, Patrick (Leah Catherine) Stout, and Andrew Stout; his great grandchildren, Renay, Jason, Isaac, William, Virginia, and Catherine; and his great great grandchild, Matthew.
A private graveside funeral will be held by the family, Monday, July 7th, 2025, at 2 pm, at Oakwood Cemetery in Siler City. The internment services will be officiated by Rick Haug, Pastor of “The Journey” Pentecostal Holiness Church where Wade was a lifelong member.
Memorials may be made to “The Journey” Church at 17475 US 64, Siler City, NC 27344.
